Liverpool Stag Weekends, Liverpool Hen Weekends and the Olympics

With under a year to go until the world’s showpiece sporting competition the Olympics comes to the UK in July and August 2012 we wanted to look at whether or not this would impact on any of you stags and hens planning weekends across the Summer of 2012.

So what weekends may be affected?

Officially the three weekends where Olympic events will be happening are the 27th – 29th July 2012, 3-5th August 2012 and 10-12th August but there is the possibility of impact to the weekends before and after as people coming for the Olympics decide to come early and explore the UK before or those that intend to extend their stay to explore the UK after.

Is Liverpool hosting any Olympic Events?

At this moment in time Liverpool is not scheduled to host any sporting events or large scale Olympic associated events. If this changes we will be the first ones to let you know

Is Liverpool scheduled to host any Olympic Teams prior to or during the Olympics?

Again at this moment in time no teams are using Liverpool as an Olympic base

Will Liverpool See an Increase in Visitors During the Olympics?

All answers to this question point to yes as those visiting London for the games look to explore a country they might not have seen before and with Liverpool only a few hours away by train or plane and well known as a recent European Capital of Culture in 2008. City centre bosses, hoteliers and ourselves all expect increased demand on the weekends during the Olympics. This means that we will be looking to hold some hotel rooms with you lovely stags and hens in mind.

Will there be Olympic Fan Events happening in the city?

Although not scheduled just yet we would strongly suggest that there will be a series of events to mark the Olympics if you are visiting Liverpool during the Games and we will release details of those on our Twitter and Facebook pages and via our emailing as soon as we are aware of them.

I am trying to organise a Liverpool Stag Weekend or Liverpool Hen Weekend during the Olympics – What do I do now?

Our best advice is to put an enquiry in with us now and ask us to hold some hotel rooms for you – Once we have done that you can find out final numbers safe in the knowledge you won’t suffer due to any increased demand for hotel rooms. You can take your time deciding what to do on the day and then pay us a deposit when you are ready to book and are happy with the personal Stag Party or Hen Party proposal Stag and Hen Liverpool has sent you.

So fear not a fantastic and memorable Liverpool Stag Party or Liverpool Hen Party next year is still very achievable and we at Stag and Hen Liverpool are here to help you achieve it. We will continually be assessing the impact the 2012 Olympic Games will have and will update you as we progress further towards the Games themselves. IF you have any questions in the meantime do get in touch!

Kind Regards

Liverpool Stag and Hen Accommodation Hints and Tips

At Stag and Hen Liverpool we know that the first thing most Liverpool bound stags and hens tend to look for is hen party accommodation in Liverpool or stag party accommodation in Liverpool and so what we wanted to do in a relatively short blog is to outline some bits of helpful bits of information and tips in relation to hotel and apartment accommodation options in the city and especially the city centre.

So here are Stag and Hen Liverpool’s helpful hints and tips on Stag and Hen accommodation in Liverpool:-

  1. One v Two Night Stays Lower hotel room stock numbers in Liverpool means that demand will on most weekends outstrip supply and that means a lot of the city centre hotels and apartments will insist on a two night stay to make sure rooms/apartments aren’t empty on the Friday night. Speak to us if you are coming for one night and can’t find any options
  2. Stag and Hen Friendly Certain hotels and apartment blocks in the city centre have unfortunately following bad experiences decided to not take bookings from stag and hen groups and their staff are certainly not friendly towards them so pick your accommodation with care or ask us and we can tell you who is stag and friendly and who isn’t.
  3. Check Your Dates Certain weekends will see hotels sell out anywhere from a couple of months to a year in advance. For example Aintree Grand National weekend, Liverpool home fixtures, Mathew Street Festival on the August Bank Holiday and Large conferences like the Labour conference on the 25th – 29th September
  4. Terms and Conditions Larger group bookings will generally tend to have different terms and conditions attached to them so know your numbers before you book or you face paying for space you do not need. Also worth noting security/damage deposits will be asked for by most accommodation providers but can be seriously steep if booking apartments.
  5. Car Parking Most people coming by car to Liverpool Stag and Hen Parties book accommodation and neglect to realise that a weekend’s parking charges for a car can add a fairly sizeable chunk to your costs so always ask on booking about parking as some hotels do have their own car parks or can give discounts at privately run multistories.

If you are at all bamboozled then why not let us take the pressure and hassle off by enquiring with us. Whether an accommodation only booking or as part of a larger weekend a lot of the time our accommodation rates mean we can get you the same accommodation cheaper.

However if you want to book it yourself and still have queries get in touch as we are always delighted to help stags and hens coming to Liverpool and you never know we might be able to help with some daytime or night time activities you were not aware of.

Kind Regards

Wowballs for stags and hens in Liverpool

We have linked up with a top quality watersports centre a short drive out of the city centre of Liverpool to offer amongst a variety of different watersports one of Stag and Hen Liverpool’s most favourite of activities Wowballs.

What I hear you asking are Hen Wowballs and Stag Wowballs and will they provide me with a unique activity for my Liverpool Hen Party and Liverpool Stag Party?

Called Wowballs or “walk on water balls” to give them their full name they are 6ft high inflatable balls that allow you experience life as a hamster as you walk or run about on the water or more precisely struggle to stay on your feet and crawl whilst in fits of giggles! Or to look at it another way why not feel like God for just a moment as you take those first steps out along the surface of the water serenely taking in the scene. Either way it is not an activity you get to do everywhere on every day of the week making it a unique activity to any Liverpool Stag or Hen Party.

The best part of all of this is that even though it is a watersport you never even have to get wet as you are walking inside the wowball on top of the water meaning no showers, no changes and no need to bring clothes and shoes you are happy to get wet. Just a fun, dry, enjoyable and unique Stag and Hen daytime activity whilst your group is in Liverpool.

You can hire two wowballs for your group for a minimum of two hours at this watersports centre and depending on your group size for as long as you want and either before you start or after you are done why not visit the ever popular Galley cafe where such things as jacket potatoes, sarnies, chips and burgers are available to purchase or the attractive bistro cafe where a full lunchtime and evening menu is available with such dishes as a steak baguette or gammon and chips?

So as you can see everything is well and truly sorted! So for further information head to the Hen Wowballs and Stag Wowballs sections of www.stagandhenliverpool.co.uk to enquire and book.

Liverpool Stag and Hen Accommodation - Beware Liverpool Football Club Home Fixtures

As we enter the month of June everyone at Stag and Hen Liverpool the office always gets slightly tense as we know that year in year out come the 17th June the fixtures for the Barclays Premier League are released. Why does this make us tense well put simply on weekends between August and May where Liverpool football club are playing home fixtures at Anfield the price of Liverpool Stag Accommodation and Liverpool Hen Accommodation in the city centre skyrockets and availability plummets and we can’t do anything about it.

What we can do however and we like to think we are quite good at is working around the system by providing either the most cost effective city centre options on these weekends or the best options slightly out of the city centre.

So if you are planning to organise Liverpool hen nights or Liverpool Stag nights between August and May in the coming year what do you do?

Well firstly talk to us before June 17th as if you have a weekend in mind and you want to get in at a lower price ahead of the fixture release we can hold apartments and hotel rooms for you whilst you organise everyone in your group. We have to book or release them four weeks prior to your party date but a lot of the time by then you are all sorted in our experience!

Your second option if you haven’t already set your date is to check the fixture list before you make a final decision on your Liverpool Stag Weekend or Liverpool Hen Weekend as if you are flexible and can book on a weekend where Liverpool are not playing in home then you will be better off.

Your last option if you are stags looking to go and watch Liverpool on your Liverpool Stag Party or hens who are unable to make another weekend for your Liverpool Hen Party is to talk to us and we can work to your budget and provide you with the best possible alternatives based on your wishes.

At Stag and Hen Liverpool it is your weekend, party and night out so don’t let football lessen your options simply call us and we will work to make it the most unique, memorable experience it can be.

Liverpool Hen Spa Days

After a bit of a break from the blogosphere Stag and Hen Liverpool have returned to have a look at the world of the all important pre wedding Liverpool Hen Party Pampering. Having visited most of the options available to hens (and stags aswell if wanted! No sexism here!) we can confidently split what is on offer into two distinct offerings. We call them a health club and salon and a hen spa. So what are the differences you need to be aware of?

A “Liverpool Spa Day” in our book is a location where all the elements of a health club fit in well with treatment rooms and beauty therapists that subtly pick each hen out during a day of relaxation in the pool sauna and steam room for heavenly half hour treatments you have pre selected. With the additional of a light lunch taken in or very near to the spa you have all the elements you need for a true Liverpool hen spa day to remember. The added exclusivity of experience and quality of facilities generally means you pay a little more for a Liverpool Hen Spa day than the other alternative a Liverpool Health Club and Spa day.

A "Liverpool Health Club and Spa Day” is normally where a salon exists as a separate entity to the Health Club and there is a clear delineation between the two. Normally these salons do a lot of business throughout the week doing everything from small beauty treatments to hairdressing and look to take hen groups at the weekend in link up with their host health club most commonly at hotels. A light lunch tends to also be included at a Liverpool Health Club and Spa day. It is this divide between the health club and salon that generally means on average this type of Liverpool Health Club and Spa day is a little cheaper than its more exclusive alternative.

When looking at the options we have weighed up city centre position, price, quality of facilities, staff and treatments and have selected only the best venues for both options that we can offer for you during your Hen Parties in Liverpool. Remember as well Stag and Hen Liverpool guarantee all your pampering sessions include beauty treatments unless you tell us not to include them something other firms do not necessarily do so always make sure you know what is included to avoid disappointment.

If you want any additional information on pampering days on Hen weekends in Liverpool with Stag and Hen Liverpool then do get in touch on 07919 146 937 or on email at info@stagandhenliverpool.co.uk

Liverpool Nightlife – Where Do Stags and Hens end up When in Liverpool?

Concert Square:- The first and probably best known and most highly frequented. If you want an idea of what Liverpool nightlife is all about head to Concert Squareat 10.30pm on a Friday or Saturday night. With venues such as Reflex, Walkabout Bar, Mood, Modo, Ruby Sky and Lloyds to name but a few you have a lot of options all within yards of one another. Generally very relaxed on dress code a lot of venues will be smart casual with fancy dress allowed within reason. Door prices are not horrific and large groups are accepted so long as you pre book. Our Liverpool Stag nightlife passes and Liverpool Hen nightlife passes will mean your group are all sorted.

Albert Dock:- Glamour and Chic area of bars set against the Grade 1 surroundings of Albert Dock – Check out Pan America, Circo bar and Revolution but dress to impress or you will look out of place and won’t get let in. Fancy Dress is not the way to go here. Large groups are accepted here so long as you abide by the door conditions of behaviour and dress code.

Mathew Street:- Made famous by the Beatles and Cavern Club a lot of venues now have sprung up which will provide you with everything from a good pub to a live music venue to a trendy bar and club. Alongside Concert Square it really is the heartbeat of the city’s nightlife. It also forms the centre piece of a live musical festival every August Bank Holiday that is visits by tens of thousands of people.

But don’t forget like every city there are hidden areas dotted all over the city- a couple of our favourites being the new place to be Palm Sugar Lounge and Alma De Cuba.

So Stag and Hen Liverpool will try and provide a bit of information for those Liverpool bound Stags and Hens that are wondering where to go and what to experience on Liverpool Hen Nights or Liverpool Stag Nights. Remember when considering venues you have to think about a lot of things,

1.Opening Times: Does it suit your plans

2.Group Size and Type: Some places won’t accept large groups even when pre-booked

3.Dress Code: Don’t pitch up where you won’t be accepted for entry

4.Door Prices: Some places charge, some don’t, some charge more the later it is

5.Music Tastes: Do you fancy Cheese and Retro, Indie and Funk or Dance?

Chat to us on booking if you have any concerns and we will make sure you have a night out to remember when you are on a Liverpool stag night or hen party in Liverpool.

Liverpool Cocktail Making v Wine Tasting in Liverpool

Liverpool Cocktail Making v Wine Tasting In Liverpool

Our latest blog at Stag and Hen Liverpool asks that age old question for ladies on a Liverpool Hen Weekend “Cocktail Making session or a Wine Tasting In Liverpool?” We do this as both are very popular and it can be difficult for those planning the perfect Liverpool Hen Weekend to decide which one to go for.

Long known as a great ice breaker and a hugely fun day or night time activity our preferred Liverpool cocktail masterclass is based at the iconic Albert Dock and with views out over the water you not only have the chance to make cocktails but also the chance to sit back and enjoy the view as you sip them.

The advantages of a cocktail making session are numerous and include - everyone who drinks will have had or made cocktails at some point so can relate to the activity, you can actually get behind the bar to make your own drinks, someone will eventually try a trick and fail (Stag and Hen Liverpool aren’t mentioning any names...... Mike!!!), there is always a sizeable buffet to go with those cocktail driven munchies and a lot of the time you can personalise your session and ask to make particular drinks you want to make.

Everyone loves a bottle of vino be it on your Liverpool Hen Weekend or on a Friday night after a long week at work so it was key for Stag and Hen Liverpool to source the best venue for a wine tasting in liverpool for hens coming to the city. Our preferred venue again with views out over the Albert Dock complex provides a warm cosy feel as you enjoy some fine wine and nibbles.

There are again plenty of advantages depending on your wishes and desires for your group. It certainly provides a refined activity to enjoy as you sip each choice of wine and find out about each bottle from the experienced wine waiter assigned to your group, would probably fit the inlaws better if you have any mums or grans in the group as they are more likely to enjoy wine over a Cosmopolitan and finally it is a slightly cheaper option for those hen groups that are on a budget.

Which One to Go for?

Well other than the obvious answer of BOTH!!! Stag and Hen Liverpool would very much suggest that we can only give you the information and unfortunately as difficult as it may be it has to be your call as to what to go for.

If it is a fun, good giggle of an activity and ice breaker for all your friends then a Liverpool Cocktail Masterclass is the way to go. However, if you have the inlaws with you or if you are looking for either a more refined or indeed slightly cheaper activity then choose the Liverpool Wine Tasting for hens.
